Amanda Cronk and David J. Cronkite left Prince Edward Co and moved to Moscow, Ont . where they ran what I guess you would call a General Store. I also inherit ed a little leather bound ledger of all their customers. It appears he was also a maker of shoes (or kip boots as they are referred to in the ledger) and sold a little of everything else. It is really a great historical document of that area as I'm sure there is an account for everyone in and around Moscow. It starts early 1870's and continues until 1885...which is just before David J. died. There are also personal entries in the back of this ledger made by Amanda where she inherits money from the estate of Asa B. Cronk. She received this money from siblings - Sarah B. - Cornelius P. and Asa. There also is an entry dated April 22, 1886 stating that her daughter Sarah E. (my grandmother) opened school at J. Jamerson schoolhouse on Thursday before good Friday. (This would be in Moscow, Ont.)
